Install guide
Install Steward on your phone.
Steward runs in your browser and can be added to your Home Screen. No app store required. Once installed, it opens like an app, with its own icon. Offline support is not ready yet, so keep a connection when you open it.
iPhone / iPad
Safari does the honors.
- Open Steward in Safari. Other iOS browsers cannot add web apps to the Home Screen.
- Tap Share. The square with an arrow, at the bottom of the screen.
- Choose Add to Home Screen. Scroll the share sheet if you do not see it.
- Tap Add. Steward now lives on your Home Screen with its own icon.
Android / Chrome
Chrome makes it easy.
- Open Steward in Chrome.
- Tap the install prompt or the browser menu. The three dots in the corner.
- Choose Install app or Add to Home Screen. The wording depends on your Chrome version.
- Confirm. Steward installs like a regular app.
Desktop
The browser is enough.
Use Steward directly in your browser, or install it if your browser offers the option. Chrome and Edge show an install icon in the address bar when a site can be installed.
Troubleshooting
If something resists.
- On iPhone, use Safari. The Add to Home Screen option only appears there.
- Make sure the site is loaded over HTTPS. The address should start with a lock.
- Offline mode is not ready yet. Keep a connection when you open Steward.
- Keep exports and backups of your character until cloud sync exists.
Local data warning. Steward stores your character locally in this early version. Export your character before clearing browser data, switching browsers or resetting your device.
